Dr. Nance is the Principal Investigator of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Center for AIDS Research-funded research involved in the study of the binding of the green tea polyphenol, epigallocatechin gallate to the CD4 molecule on T cells as an adjunct complementary therapeutic in the treatment of HIV. Her research focus is signal transduction, apoptosis, receptor expression, and structural and computational biology of macromolecule activation of B and T lymphocytes. Her other research involves human lymphocyte function after exposure to deep space radiation. Dr. Nance is the Research Supervisor for the Allergy and Immunology Laboratory at Texas Children's Hospital.
